Talks to Clubs and Societies

If you are looking for a speaker to give a talk to your Club or Society, Vintage Trains Society has a small group of volunteer speakers who can give illustrated talks about our operations to meetings at venues in selected locations in the Midlands area.

Our talks are non-technical that appeal to a wide audience of interests; they usually include aspects of some or all of the following topics with a specific focus upon one of the subjects. We can tailor a talk to your particular requirements.

Talk Themes

  • The Shakespeare Express – our summer Sundays Birmingham, Stratford and Henley Steam Train service.
  • Vintage Trains Excursions – our steam hauled tours, our classic heritage diesel and electric tours to places of interest or travelling along interesting routes.
  • Tyseley Open Days – our popular gala events at our home base featuring engines in steam, turntable demos, cavalcades and shuttle rides.
  • Tyseley Locomotive Works – a look at some of the restoration & maintenance activities for our own operations and contract work for other locomotive owners.
